Casting News for IMPULSE

Universal Cable Productions and YouTube have cast Maddie HassonSarah Desjardins, Missi Pyle, Enuka Okuma, and Craig Arnold as series regulars on the sci-fi thriller “Impulse.” The series, based on the third novel in the “Jumper” series by Steven Gould, features a rebellious 16-year-old girl, “Henry,” (Maddie Hasson) who has always felt like an outsider among her peers and longs to escape her seemingly small town. Eventually, she discovers she has the power of teleportation, confirming her belief of being an outsider — but also making her the target of those who want to control her. Hypnotic’s David Bartis and Gene Klein, who also produce UCP’s “Suits,” will executive produce along with Doug Liman (“Edge of Tomorrow,” “Go”).

  1. Look forward to it. Hope it doesn’t change from the book much as the story of Cent in Impulse and Exo is great. But is this post saying they have already changed the name of Cent to Henry? Why?

  2. Love the Jumper series (wild side) too. Always hoping to see a new book coming from Steven Gould. Already wish they’d kept Davy as part of the cast but alas I’ll take it. I only hope it survives and they can pull stories from pieces of the books.

  3. As much as I am looking forward to this I expect it will be modified to appeal to what Hollywood believes is the modern, vapid teen audience.

Too few studios have learned the lessons of the Harry Potter, Tolkien or recent Marvel movies. It’s ok to adapt for the differentmedia but don’t destroy the spirit of the original.

Griffin was the saving grace of the Jumper movie as Davie was pretty much the complete opposite personality to the original character.
