I’m giving away 5 Advance Reading Copies Impulse the third book in the Jumper series which won’t be out until January of 2013.  Tweet a link to this post with the hashtag #ImpulseGiveaway.   (Or retweet my announcement on Twitter which does the same thing.)  I will be capturing all those tweets after midnight September 30th and announcing 5 winners on October first. For more information on Impulse, look here. If you don’t have a twitter account, I will also accept entries in the comments section to this post (with a contact email.)

I don’t have a Twitter account, but here’s my comment entry. I’d love to read it.

If there’s no rule about entering both ways, then this is an entry!

If there’s a rule against it, then this post is blank. ;)

  9. on 14 Sep 2012 at 2:04 pm9J. Andrews

    I’d love to win!

  10. on 14 Sep 2012 at 3:02 pm10Gary Conway

  12. on 14 Sep 2012 at 8:08 pm12BC

Not sure if this is a good idea for me, I might obsess over making corrections. :)

  13. on 14 Sep 2012 at 8:49 pm13Kendall

You’re one of my fave authors. Sooooo……… ;-)

  14. on 14 Sep 2012 at 9:03 pm14Thomas Mayfield

Regardless of either I get an advance copy, I’m really looking forward to this one.

  15. on 14 Sep 2012 at 9:04 pm15Thomas Mayfield

How my phone got “either” from an “if” Swype I will never know.

  16. on 14 Sep 2012 at 9:48 pm16TIm

    Entering!

I just got a copy of 7th Sigma, and will start it tonight.

The book came with a barcode sticker over the barcode printed on the book. Does anyone know why they do that? It covers up some of the blurb on the back. I hate stickers and pulled it off. But now there’s a big sticky patch on the book, which is probably worse. That’ll learn me.

  17. on 14 Sep 2012 at 10:29 pm17Ron

I would love to retweet it but will comment here instead since I no longer tweet. Would love to get a copy of this. Many Thanks.

  18. on 15 Sep 2012 at 1:58 pm18brian lockhart

Can’t wait! Greatly enjoyed Jumper & Reflex. Congrats on the contract for another sequel. O.T – Tim(#16) WD-40 is your answer to sticky stuff.
    Thanks

  19. on 15 Sep 2012 at 5:08 pm19Dale Stroble

Another Jumper story?!! Whee! I can hardly wait – which is why I’m trying my luck at this drawing.
    Thanks for the chance.

  20. on 15 Sep 2012 at 5:13 pm20gus fleischmann

    A new Jumper book! Hooray!

  23. on 15 Sep 2012 at 10:59 pm23Ita V

Oh, I’d love to have an ARC! I was fortunate enough to hear you read from the book at renovation and it really whetted my appetite for more!

  24. on 16 Sep 2012 at 8:38 am24Irene M

I haven’t had the pleasure of reading any of Steven Gould’s books, but after reading the review and these comments I would surely love the opportunity. Thank you for the great giveaway!

  25. on 16 Sep 2012 at 9:24 am25HurogGirl

Tweeted. Interesting series, & the changes in the movie, plus why you made/allowed them made thought provoking reading too.
@TIm; for the sticky patch on your book, try dampening a soft cloth with vinegar & rubbing away the sticky with that. If it doesn’t work, rinse the cloth, wring it out, & try a little dish soap straight onto the cloth & rub some more.

  26. on 16 Sep 2012 at 12:13 pm26paxed

Well, I sure hope being on another continent doesn’t disqualify me…

  27. on 16 Sep 2012 at 9:33 pm27Mark V

    Count me in!

  28. on 17 Sep 2012 at 2:35 pm28Andrew

Would you send an ARC overseas for a European fan? If so, I’d also like to participate in the draw.

  29. on 17 Sep 2012 at 9:15 pm29Tim

    >Well, I sure hope being on another continent doesn’t disqualify me…

Antartica? Islandia? Atlantis? How’s the mail service to your continent?

  30. on 18 Sep 2012 at 12:28 am30Melita Kennedy

I’m sorry, no twitter account! I can barely keep up with emails and some blogs while dealing with twins. It’s taking me forever to finish books too, but Impulse will go to the top of the stack either in October or in January! I’ll definitely be getting the hardcover, no matter what.

  31. on 18 Sep 2012 at 7:28 am31Troy

    Please count me in!

    Thanks,
    Troy

  32. on 18 Sep 2012 at 8:50 pm32Rick C

I’ve bought Jumper, Reflex, and Griffin’s Story all in hardback, and I’ll probably get Reflex just to complete the set on my shelves. But it sure would be great to also have an advanced copy, and October 8th IS my birthday.

  33. on 19 Sep 2012 at 8:44 pm33Thomas Pulk

Here’s throwing my name into the drawing. Not a big twitter fan I learned about this on martha wells livejournal. Love your books and can’t wait.

  34. on 20 Sep 2012 at 7:59 am34AmyCat - Book Universe

Too tired (just pulled an all-nighter doing a last-minute book order for an upcoming convention) to remember my Twitter password… but have gone to my wholesaler’s website and added copies to back-order when I place my next order.

SQUEEEing with delight at the prospect of a new JUMPER story!

  35. on 21 Sep 2012 at 1:59 am35Václav

Just finished reading reflex, little bit difficult for me in english, I am from Czech republic, and I would love to read impulse as soon as it is possible. By the way, those books are great :)

    Definitely count me in!

  39. on 22 Sep 2012 at 10:50 pm39Tim

    @HurogGirl The vinegar helped, thanks!

@brian lockhart I admit I couldn’t bring myself to put WD-40 on my book. Didn’t want to be smelling that while I’m reading!

@7th Sigma Pretty funny that in the span of two pages there were references to two of my very favorite movies of all time: Fiddler on the Roof, and Shakespeare in Love.

  40. on 23 Sep 2012 at 6:08 pm40Todd

It would be awesome to have a copy of Impulse. Been waiting and anticipating this new book in your awesome series. By the way, I loved the movie first, saw the book in a used bookstore, and now love the series!

I was all ready to go and make a twitter account…. glad of the last sentence! What a fantastic giveaway! :D

  51. on 01 Oct 2012 at 3:41 pm51Mike

I just recently re-bought Jumper and Reflex, after loaning out copies that people were less than eager to return. I don’t blame them! Hopefully rereading the first two will sate my appetite until this one comes out.

  52. on 02 Oct 2012 at 11:54 am52Tim

    Thanks for having the giveaway!

  53. on 19 Oct 2012 at 9:01 pm53Ron

Glad to see the continuation of the Jumper Series! Thank you for allowing entries by means other than Twitter or Facebook. My latest pet peeve is contests that can only be entered by members of Facebook, Twitter or some other proprietary social media. I suspect it is a form of contact mining.

Too bad I got here too late to enter the contest. I will be counting the days until I can buy Impulse.

    Thank you,
    Ron

  54. on 25 Oct 2012 at 6:14 am54Chuck Albrecht

I would like to take a chance on the early copy of Impulse. Will it be available in paper? will it be available in epub format or just Kindle?

  55. on 25 Oct 2012 at 6:37 am55steve

The contest went through October 1. I may do another contest near the end of November.

IMPULSE will be available in all ebook venues. McMillan has also said all their books going forward will be DRM free.
