TV series would be fun if the right actor did it. Don’t want to see them highschool it up. Although book and film are YA, Character Davy is beyond his years in many ways. I would like to see a really great TV version, like Britain’s Robin Hood. Not too corny or kiddie.
Can’t wait for the next book in the Jumper series, and I’m an old lady, still love the character.

A TV series is a fine idea, but why be tied down to the book?

The movie is not about the Davy in the book, but the Davy from the book could be in lots of different situations as he learns about jumping. He doesn’t need to be chased by an entire secret organization to create sufficient tension for good television. His own internal conflict about the bank job goes a long way in the book and could be worked into season 2.

Hey, I have just been thinking that it would have been nicer of Jumper was made as a TV series, and not a film itself.
I liked the film, a lot but the book is way better and could have been PERFECT as a television series. So there would have to be a lot of voice overs for thinking scenes, so what? I still think that this would have been better off as a TV series. I mean, an episode or two for every chapter, making it about 25 episodes or something. Also, Jumper, Reflex, and that other book you are soon to write would make 3 seasons total I suppose. I would’ve loved to have a tv show that lasted an hour every episode too of course.

Also, I have a question, Steven Ghould, because of there being multiple jumpers in the film getting the ability alone without help, (I mean like David got the ability and not the way Millie did.) would that also mean Fox has those rights of there being more then one jumper? Can you not make another jumper in your next Jumper book?

These questions have been in my mind for quite a while now.

I got the audiobook of Reflex from Fictionwise.com some time ago and loved it. I’ve since bought the paperbacks of Jumper (when I eventually realised that it existed!) and Reflex and I’m looking forward to the next installment immensely. Reflex doesn’t seem to be available in audio form any more. Is there any likelyhood that Jumper will be made into an audiobook? (The original, not Griffin’s Story, which is already.)

Longtime “Jumper” fan — recommended the book to at least a dozen people in my life and have had to buy the book about that many times when my lent copy was not returned.

Found your site last year when the Jumper movie was about to be released. I thought it was “interesting”, am very glad it made the author some money, but it was not one of my favorite movies of all time — whereas the book is one of my favorite books of all time.

However, I had never read “Reflex” and when I learned of its existence, even used copies of the book were being sold for their weight in gold. Pricing was ridiculous (like $35 for a used paperback?). BUT, with Jumper movie coming out, new editions of both books were published, which made the book available without scalper pricing.

I enjoyed “Reflex” immensely. I really got into the plot, I could visualize every location and situation. I couldn’t wait to finish it — but I also couldn’t stand to finish it because then it would be over. So, I would go back and re-read key pages while also marching for the end.

The climax where they flush the villain out was so original. LOVED IT. (it’s not really a spoiler, I didn’t say how it ended)

So, very good news then that a 3rd is in mind, even if not immediately in the works. Please stay true to the book universe and don’t be corrupted by the movie version.

To Paul: After the movie came out the original Jumper book hit the New York Times bestseller list. So yeah, he sold a lot more books.

Yes! Another Jumper novel! Brilliant. I am very much looking forward to it, especially after reading the Shade short story.

For the title, the best that I can think of is something like “Shades of Technology” or perhaps “Metal Eaters” or “Metal Swarms.” The boyfriend suggests “End of the Metal Age.”

Finally, Conquistadors is not nearly as good. The politics of the Familes are abhorrent, and even if you can look past that I think there are problems with the central love story that make it . . . well, squicky.

Well I am definitely excited for the next “Yumper” too. From the description of that other book, it seems the main concept of his book is curiously similar to that of Wildside. Anyways, I can’t wait for any books you write in the future and if I get my way, another Wildside book.

Jumper 2 on IMDB has been updated. They have added the first cast member. Hayden Christensen as David Rice. Hayden’s listing also has Jumper 2 listed under his “Projects in Development”. Still listed as “In Development: Optioned Property”.

Alec, I haven’t ruled it out. But first this bug book and then the Yumper sequel. I’m not sure where I would go, exactly. Steve Stirling has written a similar book (sort of) but gone a completely different direction.
