Wow, that is an impressive photo, Marcia. I zoomed in and out on the president, the folks sitting behind him, and several folks down in the crowd. Way, way cool! Thanks for sharing it.

I got warm fuzzies seeing the millions of people on The Mall for the Inauguration; and the photographers were out in force documenting it. I found another incredible panoramic shot of the day that you can click on and zoom in. If you were in the crowd, you may be able to find yourself.

Hey, I'm certainly in no position to be pointing fingers here.

You want a confession? I voted against Schwarzenegger (Would you believe?) but after his election my fantasy was of him going after Enron as though he was one of the characters he plays in the movies. Guys in suits being pitched out of the upper floors of skyscrapers and so on...

Needless to say I was disappointed.

But within the first few days of achieving office Obama is surpassing my most optimistic fantasies. Closing Guantanamo? Giving freedom of information some real teeth?

Look, Nixon was my introduction to the concept of government. This guy, well. I'm not sure I'm ready for him -- but I'll try to deal with it.

Sean, you're absolutely right. I've clearly been playing too much Left4Dead.

Here's a different take on the service interruption message above:

Dude, dude, dude. The warrior metaphor is soooo last administration. War is the last (obvious profanity) thing we need.

How about this instead?

Damn, that's a lot of people. Can you imagine being the focus of all that? I guess certain people (now, thankfully, gone) would look out at that audience and think, "Hey, they're here to see me!" and others would look out and think "There's my responsibility, right there."

Wow.
