Where’s Al Gore When You Need Him?

December 10th, 2008 by Rory Harper

Huh. So much for that global warming rumor.

This is what confronted me in the parking lot when I was desperately trying to escape from work this afternoon.

I’ve lived in BCS for a dozen years. I think I saw a few sprinkles in the sky once, that first year. Nothing since then.

We had an actual snowstorm this evening, which meant that the ground was completely covered for awhile. It was an unexpected pleasure to ride through it. It was trippy, man.

It’s mostly gone now, as I noticed when I went out a few minutes ago to stock up on survival BlueBell Homemade Vanilla.

It’s supposed to get down into the twenties tonight. This, of course, does not affect my plans to ride into Austin this weekend to hang out with She Who Is Awesome and her concubine, since says the temps will be in the seventies by then. Gotta love that fickle Texas weather.

BCS? Your audience is fairly widespread — I only found that it meant Bryant & College Station, Texas by Googling with the knowledge (less obscure) that Austin is in Texas.
Snow is rather common at the Brentwood College School in Victoria, British Columbia after all.

katie — Yeah, maybe! I know Rach is working late that day, and we have some stuff already scheduled. will give you a yell if we get loose. Have fun!

John– See, I trusted you to be an inquiring mind and figure it all out. And you did! Go you!

I’m most pleased that we have smart, mildly obsessive readers here… 🙂

Dude! There’s a reason they call it climate *change*.

On a related note, some good news on an Obama cabinet pick.
