Jumper Passes $148 Mil Worldwide

BoxOfficeMojo, as usual.
The movie’s definitely got legs. Had a very good weekend, IMHO.
It takes a critical lickin’ and keeps on tickin’.
Sequel, dammit!

Performing better worldwide—but not with small numbers in either case.
Sequels (Jumper Supremacy, The Griffin Ultimatum) will feature several foreign actors whose screen time will be much longer in the appropriate international release (think Takeshi Kitano in Johnny M).

I finished reading the book again(only the second time) last night. What it is, I think, is an example of what literature can do that movies can’t. Movies have to externalize, by any means, from the sidekick to the dreaded(and often dreadful) voice over.
Literature can grapple with anything the writer wants and, particularly well, the thinking process. CGI that!
Steve’s book(Mine is signed and numbered copy #3.)has plenty of action, starting with page one and what too many action movies lack these days, a romantic interest AND storyline. It still baffled the movie guys when it came to a screen translation.
Jumper also sums up what separates Sunni and Shi’a Muslims on a single page that should have been copied(fair use, Steve)and handed out to State Department and Defense Department personnel seven years ago.
To those who haven’t read the book or haven’t in a while: alot yourself some weekend time. It’s a page turner and you won’t want to put it down.
