Poster Post

November 6th, 2007 by Steven Gould

Over at /Film I found out that Jumper the movie has been moved up one day. Instead of “President’s Day Weekend” (the 15th of Feb, 2008) the release date is now the 14th (Valentines Day!) How romantic.

While this hasn’t been changed in the end of the online trailer it has been changed at the official website.

Oh, yeah, and now there’s a poster (as seen at /Film):

This movie sphinx!

Now for the weird stuff.

Jumpers Will Break Your Heart
Jumpers Will Kick Your Ass
Jumpers Will Steal Your Car

Jumpers Will Save Your Life

and

Kathy Is A Jumper

So, it’s like fanfic but it’s a step removed, right? No one’s writing fanfic about my books but they’re already doing fanficfilms about the movie and it’s not even out yet. And, it’s pretty inevitable that someone =will= be doing fanfic based on the movie once it comes out.

Isn’t that weird?

Cool. I hadn’t realized how much the whole Jumper idea is just made for low-budget stop-motion vids. I’d love it if it went really viral as a sub-sub-genre on YouTube..

So, how do you think you’re going to feel when the slash-fic starts showing up?

And are you going to write any yourself?….

  2. Madeleine Robins Says:

It is very cool indeed. You’re practically viral!

Steve, this isn’t a post about Pride, is it?

  3. Bradley Denton Says:

It makes perfect sense to open the film on February 14th.

Because if you’re with the one you love on Valentine’s Day . . . of course you’re going to Jump ‘er.

  4. Rachael Says:

Hahaha! I loved the films, particularly the car theft one.

  5. gemma_mac Says:

The price of fame. LOL What makes you think they haven’t already started writing fan-fic about Jumper? Slash?…..Ack!! Character assassins! Nooooooo! :) )

Love the poster. Love the Valentine’s Day release date.

Hahaha, I loved the parody with the teenagers. It was awesome! They should make more of that.
