Street Musicians
Maureen McHugh
Sometimes the world is so postmodern it hurts my brain. This is a group called The Wrong Trousers (Wallace and Gromit!) which performs a version of Video Killed the Radio Star on harp, mandolin and stand up bass. Thanks to Karen Meisner for the link.

That’s wonderful. And they’re such puppies!

This is a delightful vid!
It’s occurred to me to find out what the laws are in in Austin, and any permits that might be needed, for me (and Brad, and other Babies, if I could suck them into it) to do some street busking.
Maybe go down on Sixth Street if they allow it. Open up the guitar case and see who throws money into it.
Any idea whether Austin allows busking?

You have to have a permit unless the temperature has exceeded 97 degrees F.

English translation of (2) and (3): You don’t need a permit in August.

Busking in Austin is pointless, since everyone who walks by is yet another penniless musician.

Oh, well…. It was just a thought….
