Despite the troubling lack of flying cars, can there be any doubt that we’re living in some kind of science fictional future? Probably a satirical SF future at that. I mean, doesn’t the fact that there’s now a futures market in plagues being funded by a private foundation sound like something out of Pohl or Heinlein?

So where the hell are the flying cars, dammit?

  1. Erin O'Brien Says:

Dear Madeleine: The flying cars are floating all around me, the color of m&m’s. Every time I reach for one, it darts away and I tumble through the sky and clouds, laughing.

  2. Rory Harper Says:

I think Erin’s on my planet, listening to Bluze Rock and dropping acid.

  3. Madeleine Robins Says:

Erin, can I have some of whatever it is you’re having? Sounds like such fun.

  4. Erin O'Brien Says:

Madeleine, Sure. I’m having what the chicken’s having. And turn up the Bluze, Rory.
