Vying for the Crown
Madeleine Robins
Emily the Dog (as she is known at the pharmacy which filled her prescription for doggie-Valium) has broken a toe. I wish I had her X-ray to post here (it’s a really well-done break. I think the E-dog believes that anything worth doing is worth doing thoroughly) but failing that, I offer the afflicted pup in her new splint. The lovely tech at the vet not only put her in a red cast, but put (you can just see it in the photo) a little pink heart on the front. Puir wee doggie an aw’.

Good Lord girl, the dog and the car at the same time!
I have to do some speaking to the powers that be…

Oooooh, poor baby puppy. She looks sad. If you want, I can mail her something that you can put in her yummy doggy food to help her feel better…..It starts with a ‘V’ like Valium, but it’s a little different.

I’m thinking of occupational therapy. Lots of things to chew on, and much cuddling.
Tho’ the pharmacist was apparently amused when spouse referred to the pup’s meds as Doggy Downers.

Rory, if I told you I had a need, would you send me something to put in my chow?
Madeleine, tell her that Texas is sending her get well wishes.

Maureen, I have told her. I think she was touched. She looked soulful and continued to eat her rawhide chew (which will have to stand in for her usual hour-at-the-dog-park until the cast is off…thus the Valium).

Texas dogs Lucy, Linus, and Tillie send Get-Well wishes to Emily as well . . . and they seem to be recommending lots of bed rest.
