What Laura Saw
Steven Gould
Laura was looking up something on Amazon and ran across this:

It’s the prequel (specifically the back story of a character not from my previous books) to the Jumper movie. The character is going to be played by Jamie Bell of Billy Elliot fame. This is the hardback cover. The mass market will have movie tie-in art. According to Amazon, it will be published August 21, 2007.
I think the cover is really cool.
I better finish writing the damn thing.

I am amused that this is how I find out about these things. I guess I’m low key.

I guess…

Now that is a great cover. Though its edifice complex does kinda make me wonder how the Flatiron Building, Empire State Building, and Citicorp Center got into that configuration.

What a nifty cover! It makes me dizzy, but in a good way. Is this their way of pressuring you to get done?

I don’t think so. They achieve that by emailing me regularly.

Woot! Grats Mr. Steven Gould! Can’t wait to read it!

I’m hooked and marking my calendar but no pressure.
) I admit I read Jumper and Reflex when they started filming the movie. I couldn’t put the books down and didn’t know what to do with myself when I was finished. Looking forward to a new story. LOL

roll on 21 August! Now start work on a sequel to Wilside….

Yeah, sequel to ‘Wildside’ would be cool.
Also, as long as you’re at it, do a rewrite on ‘Helm’ to include all that stuff that you were talking about when you were writing it, that would have made it twice as long.

I told you, Rory, we couldn’t leave all the wild monkey sex in. Nor the lama boy scene you were so fond of. I mean, he was under-age, the lama was under-age, heck–even the melon was under-age!

As long as they were all wearing condoms, especially the melon, I don’t really see what the problem is.
I think being stuck in this whole Neo-Puritan Age is keeping some of our great writers from creating the literature that they should.
That said, at my editor’s request, I did cut from the ‘climax’ of Petrogypsies the whole pheromone-induced mass orgy that covered the entire A&M campus.
